Bottles, Butts & Boots - at Nolita

Bottles, Butts & Boots - A western-themed benefit party for Big Brothers Big Sisters, was held at Nolita on May 29, 2009. The party was the culmination of the larger "Nolita Denim Swap", which collected gently-used jeans to donate to Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Widmer Brothers Brewery donated over 35,000 ounces of beer for the event! Guests had an opportunity to purchase one or more $10 tickets to draw from the "Widmer Wall of Beer", with products valued from $5-60. Several lucky folks went home with entire Widmer kegs! Party-goers were encouraged to wear jeans and western-themed attire. For $5, attendees could purchase a raffle ticket to win a brand-new pair of Nolita jeans!

The event was a great success! Every ticket for the Widmer-Wall-of-Beer was sold! And, over 100 tickets to the jeans raffle were sold! Every penny from the evening's proceeds went to Big Brothers Big Sisters Columbia-Northwest.

Good morning! Welcome to Nolita at 4:30am.

We now have donuts, bagels, coffee, and orange juice for any customers who arrive before dawn.

Its our new recession strategy!

Just kidding! The front doors at Nolita are always locked at 4:30am.

But on Thursday, May 28th, we opened early for a good cause.

Kacey Montoya from KOIN TV stopped by to talk about the upcoming Bottles, Butts, & Boots Party

(what do these three things have in common? A countrified denim fundraising party, that's what).

Rob Widmer, of Widmer Brothers Brewery, also took part in the morning's action.

Widmer is a great local Portland-based company (so great they were willing to raffle off 10 party-kegs,

10 mini-kegs, and 95 six-packs of Widmer beer to the Bottles, Butts & Boots party)!

That's more than 28,000 ounces of local, delicious beer!

Widmer Brewery celebrated its 25th Anniversary this year. Congratulations!

The shoot was a lot of fun. Tons of our favorite peeps were there,

including Kirsten from Outside Media, Tess and Lynn from Big Brothers Big Sisters,

Rob Widmer, and Kacey Montoya from KOIN.

Bottles Butts & Boots Benefit Party

During our last buying trip to Los Angeles, we were magnetically drawn into a small jewelry booth at a trade show. We were smitten by the earthy, rugged feel of Alkemie jewelry.
